Centre for Science and Environment (CSE) has announced that it has joined hands with the state government of Rajasthan to help the state strengthen and implement its clean air action plans. A memorandum of understanding (MoU) was signed  between Anumita Roychowdhury, executive director-research and advocacy, CSE and S Deval, member secretary, Rajasthan State Pollution Control Board (SPCB). P K Goyal, chairperson, SPCB, presided over the function.

Said Roychowdhury: “CSE and Rajasthan have joined hands for knowledge sharing and capacity building for enhanced multi-sector strategy development for implementation. This is a solution oriented partnership to meet the clean air benchmark.”

Rajasthan has already initiated some steps to curb pollution levels. The partnership is aiming to take this work further in the priority areas of industrial and power plant pollution, management of critical waste streams including municipal solid waste and construction and demolition waste, and new generation strategies for controlling vehicular pollution.
