Crompton Makes Strategic Solar Debut with INR 52 Crore Rooftop Order in Telangana

Crompton Greaves Consumer Electricals Ltd. (Crompton), one of India’s top consumer electrical brands, has bagged its first major solar rooftop order worth INR 52 crore in Telangana,  a move that marks its strategic foray into India’s fast-growing solar energy sector.

The project positions Crompton as a credible new player in the INR 20,000–INR 25,000 crore rooftop solar market, which is expanding at over 20 percent annually. This milestone comes as part of the company’s larger plan to diversify its portfolio and grow its total addressable market from INR 1 lakh crore to INR 2 lakh crore, tapping into opportunities worth INR 40,000–INR 50,000 crore across solar pumps and rooftops. “Our entry into the solar rooftop segment represents a significant milestone in Crompton’s journey toward sustainable growth,” said Promeet Ghosh, Managing Director and CEO, Crompton Greaves Consumer Electricals Ltd. “This order validates our capabilities and reflects our commitment to India’s green energy transition. As per the firm, Crompton has already built strong momentum in the solar pumps segment, with multiple large orders and a growing project pipeline. Its expansion into solar rooftops further reinforces its environmental, social, and governance (ESG) focus, positioning the company as a comprehensive energy solutions provider in line with India’s clean energy ambitions.

The company has earned multiple National Energy Conservation Awards from the Bureau of Energy Efficiency (BEE) and has been recognised among India’s Best Managed Companies by Deloitte Private, the firm stated in its statement.
