Indian solar panel manufacturer Credence Solar has taken a major step toward expanding its global footprint with the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with a US-based company for the supply of its higher wattage photovoltaic (PV) modules.
The agreement underscores the growing international recognition of Credence’s technology capabilities and product reliability, the company stated.
“This is a significant achievement for us. We aim to serve both the Indian and global markets with cutting-edge, reliable, and certified products. Our module ranges are certified by IEC and UL allowing us to cater to the global market effectively,” stated a spokesperson from Credence further adding that the company aims to expand its global footprint by supplying 725W+ panels that meet US requirements, thereby targeting the independent distribution (ID) market.
At the recently concluded RE+ Las Vegas, the company presented its full portfolio of advanced modules, ranging from 590W to 725W, which drew strong interest from domestic and international stakeholders alike.
Credence has positioned itself at the forefront of India’s solar manufacturing sector, with its modules carrying certifications from both IEC and UL, enabling seamless entry into international markets. For the domestic market, the company has also secured BIS and ALMM listings for products up to 730W.
Given the rising demand for higher efficiency modules that can lower the levelized cost of energy (LCOE) for developers, the higher wattage panels from Credence is likely to find many takers. By pushing wattage limits upward, Credence is aligning with the global transition towards large-format, high-output modules increasingly favoured in utility-scale projects, the company stated.
With this milestone, Credence is set to deepen its role not only in supporting India’s renewable energy mission but also in contributing to global solar supply chain resilience.
The company currently has a solar module production capacity of 600 MW, which is being expanded to 2.2 GW. Further, the company also has plans to get into solar cell manufacturing with an initial 1.2 GW TOPCon cell line, which is expected to be commissioned by late 2026.
