Covestro showcased next-gen LED lighting solutions at Light India 2018

Covestro has announced that it has showcased material solutions based on high-performance polycarbonate for applications in optics, light guides and heat sinks at the 4^th edition of Light India 2018.

Talking about the opportunity for the polymer industry in the LED lighting solutions, Ajay Durrani, MD, Covestro (India) said, “Developing innovative and sustainable solutions is at the core of our operations. Covestro offers a range of polycarbonate resins and blends, along with application support, for designers and manufacturers in the LED lighting industry. Polycarbonates allow the designers to develop the LED parts with more design freedom and also enhance the productivity which is not possible with the traditional materials.”

Covestro has been actively involved in developing energy-efficient and resource-friendly LED lighting for years. The show helped to introduce few innovative product technologies for the next generation LED lighting products such as PC based UV established raw material for the LED luminaries secondary optics & the thermally conductive polycarbonate portfolio.
