Cosmic PV Power Secures First ALMM Approval for Surat Facility with 1,848 MW Capacity

Cosmic's Tadkeshwar facility has been enlisted with an annual manufacturing capacity of 1,848 MW and is approved to manufacture three series of bifacial N-type TOPCon solar modules.

Cosmic PV Power Ltd. has secured Approved List of Models and Manufacturers (ALMM) approval for its manufacturing facility at Tadkeshwar in Gujarat's Surat district, adding 1,848 MW of annual solar module manufacturing capacity and taking the company's total ALMM-approved manufacturing capacity to 3,150 MW.

The approval was part of the latest revision of the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy's (MNRE) ALMM. Cosmic's Surat unit was among the largest new facility additions in terms of manufacturing capacity.

The Tadkeshwar facility has been enlisted with an annual manufacturing capacity of 1,848 MW and is approved to manufacture three series of bifacial N-type TOPCon solar modules. These include a 615-watt module with 132 half-cut cells, a 560-watt module with 120 half-cut cells and a 505-watt module with 108 half-cut cells, all designed for 1,500-volt system applications.

The ALMM approval for the facility is valid from July 6, 2026, to July 5, 2030. The manufacturing unit is registered with the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS).

The latest ALMM revision also granted first-time approvals to manufacturing facilities of NRG SOL Power, Havells India, Icon Solar En Power Technologies, ISH Solar and Powersphere Renewable, while several existing manufacturers received approvals for additional models or capacity expansions.

India's ALMM specifies the solar module manufacturers and manufacturing facilities eligible to supply modules for government-backed and specified domestic solar projects, forming part of the country's efforts to expand domestic manufacturing and reduce dependence on imports.
