ComAp, Jinko ESS Announce Global Partnership to Deliver C&I BESS Solutions
ComAp and Jinko ESS have announced a declaration of compatibility to jointly deliver grid-forming, virtual synchronous generator-enabled C&I battery energy storage solutions for on-grid, off-grid, and hybrid energy applications.

Smart control solutions provider ComAp and energy storage company Jinko ESS, a subsidiary of Jinko Solar, have announced a declaration of compatibility to deliver commercial and industrial (C&I) battery energy storage solutions (BESS).
The collaboration combines Jinko ESS’s SunGiga All‑in‑One G2 BESS with ComAp’s InteliNeo energy management portfolio, comprising InteliNeo 530 BESS, InteliNeo 5500, and InteliNeo 6000, for both on‑grid and off‑grid sites, including co‑located solar PV, wind turbines, and diesel or gas gen-sets, the companies said in a joint statement.
It further added that following joint technical alignments in Europe and China, the teams have successfully demonstrated that ComAp’s InteliNeo controllers seamlessly orchestrate the Virtual Synchronous Generator (VSG) function on Jinko ESS’s latest SunGiga All‑in‑One G2 BESS. “This validation confirms grid‑forming operation using the VSG function, supporting microgrids and weak grid environments where resilient voltage and frequency are essential,” it said.
VSG allows an inverter‑based BESS to behave like a traditional synchronous generator, providing virtual inertia and damping that help stabilise frequency and reduce oscillations during disturbances. In practice, this means improved power quality, especially during transitions between grid-connected and islanded operation, higher renewable contribution, and black-start capabilities, the companies said.
It further highlighted that for C&I customers, VSG can translate into higher uptime, safer integration of renewables, and more predictable performance in sites with variable or constrained grids.
The solution targets a wide range of applications, including on-grid commercial and industrial sites where it enables demand charge reduction, peak-valley arbitrage, reliable backup power, and enhanced power-quality support. For off-grid and microgrid deployments, it supports grid-forming operations with virtual synchronous generator (VSG) capability, black-start functionality, and coordinated dispatch of solar PV, wind, and gensets. It is also suited for co-located hybrid plants, integrating PV or wind, battery energy storage systems, and conventional generation assets under a unified EMS control environment, the companies stated.
The collaboration enables seamless on-grid and off-grid flexibility through native microgrid applications such as peak shaving, scheduling, backup, and islanded operations. Backed by proven interoperability using standardised communications and engineered control sequences, the solution ensures reliable commissioning and long-term lifecycle performance, while the global presence of both companies supports scalable design, delivery, and service worldwide, noted the statement.
It further added that the joint ComAp–Jinko ESS solution is available immediately through regional teams and authorised partners, and the companies will offer solution design support, integration guidelines, and commissioning assistance for qualified projects worldwide.
