Cleantech Solar has signed a 9 MWp power purchase agreement (PPA) with Bonfiglioli Transmissions Ltd. to supply solar power from its open access solar park in Thoothukudi, Tamil Nadu.

Under the agreement, Bonfiglioli India will procure renewable energy on a captive basis, enabling the company to significantly reduce its carbon footprint while advancing its sustainability goals. The solar power will be sourced from Cleantech Solar’s project in Tamil Nadu.

“This collaboration reinforces Cleantech Solar’s mission to provide premium sustainable energy solutions to industry leaders, cementing its strategic position within Tamil Nadu and India’s evolving renewable energy landscape,” stated the company.

Last month, Carborundum Universal entered into a power purchase agreement with Putrim Renewables, a special purpose vehicle of Cleantech Solar, to source power from an 18 MW solar project located in Thoothukudi.

In May 2025, Cleantech Solar announced the commissioning of its anchor open access solar PV projects totalling ~80 MWp for industrial customers at its state-of-the-art 275 MWp solar park in Tamil Nadu. It was the company’s fifth renewable energy park in the state.

In April 2025, the company announced the commissioning of anchor open access solar PV projects for blue chip industrial customers at its state-of-the-art 100 MWp solar park in Maharashtra - its seventh renewable energy park in the state.

Headquartered in Singapore, Cleantech Solar has numerous solar and wind hybrid projects across India and Southeast Asia, covering approximately 1.2 GWp of assets in operations, construction and development stages. This includes installations in India, Singapore, Cambodia, Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand and Vietnam.
