The Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) organised a conference on ‘Cost Optimisation for Industries Using Renewable Energy – Practical Solutions & Business Opportunities through Solar’ at Hotel Novotel, Ahmedabad.
The conference brought together industry leaders, policymakers and renewable energy experts to deliberate on strategies for enhancing cost efficiency through solar energy adoption.
The event commenced with an inaugural session featuring eminent speakers. Rinish Sekhani, Convenor, CII Gujarat Textile Panel, welcomed the participants and emphasised the importance of renewable energy in driving industrial competitiveness.
The session was graced by Shri Prakash Varmora, MLA, Dhrangadhra Constituency, Surendranagar District as Guest of Honour, who encouraged industries to adopt renewable energy for sustainable growth and offered confidence that Gujarat can scale industries that will Make In India and Make for the World, through able leaders that invest in themselves and their team.

The Special Address by Sujit Gulati (IAS Retd.) offered strategic insights into policy frameworks and the future of renewable energy adoption in India. Drawing from governance experience, he underscored that a seamless transition depends on fostering deep public-private collaboration and accelerating domestic manufacturing technologies.
Dr Alok Das, Convenor, CII Gujarat Renewable Energy Panel, provided an overview of the renewable energy landscape and emerging opportunities.
Kishorsinh Zala, President, Gujarat Federation of Solar Industries, highlighted the growth trajectory of the solar sector in the region.
The Conference was attended by Senior Officials from Gujarat Energy Development Agency (GEDA) and Gujarat Power Corporation (GPCL).
