After the successful inauguration of 5th China Homelife/ Machinex India 2017 on 5th December 2017, the launch was followed by a CII India-China Economic Forum on Building Sustainable Partnerships and a networking reception addressing over 150 Chinese entrepreneurs and businessmen. The agenda was to discuss investment opportunities in India and hurdles, challenges to be tackled.

Mr. Ninad Karpe, Chairman, CII Western Region & Director, Aptech Ltd. commented “CII in its endeavour to promote Indian industry provides huge opportunities for Chinese participation in India’s ambitious program for infrastructure construction in power, railways, road and highways and urban development. Chinese companies have established high technical and engineering capabilities in project management and shown great results in India. Under the make in India campaign we welcome Chinese investments in India across various sectors such as electronics, automotive and engineering goods, among others. As the demand for such goods is large and growing in India, Chinese companies can tap these markets for their growth. We at CII welcome Chinese companies to India and can provide a strong platform for your engagement in India. CII has a presence in Shanghai which is always ready to provide necessary support to Chinese businesses. I wish everyone a success through this exhibition.”

Addressing a room full of Chinese entrepreneurs and businessmen, Mr. Arvind Sinha, National President, The Textile Association (India) said “Working with China has always been a great experience for me as I have been trading with China since 1977. I see the same opportunities or even larger for other Indian traders to partner with Chinese manufacturers. India is currently on a trajectory which is giving us global recognition as well as helping trade situations improve with each passing day. In the last one year, India has seen two major trade decisions - one was demonetization and second was Goods and Services Tax (GST) which are set to make India a safer and stronger destination to trade with. On ease of trading, thanks to the current Government, there have been more than 30 ports launched in the last two years which has made trading with Indian businesses even more convenient. I would also encourage Chinese manufacturers to build manufacturing plants in India, if they intend to grow and expand.”

On how to invest in India, Mr. Rahul Amrutkar, CEO, Wer4U – MIDC shared his insights by commenting, “I see great strength in Chinese entrepreneurs which compliments today’s growth of India. The way the Chinese economy has been booming due to entrepreneurs is purely because of their passion, great vision, technology support and government initiatives. This has made China world’s largest economy. I see a huge opportunity under the ‘Make in India’ campaign of the government which has led to increase in FDI. In order to grow, I believe, instead of competing, we should rather complement each other. As two strong nations in the world, there is a need to collaborate for common cause, join hands to build up the second largest economy of the world after China. We welcome you to join hands with our talent pool via your strong technological skills, patents, innovations with least risk factor. Collaboration will be the key for Chinese manufacturers to sustain longer in India.”

The exhibition provided an authoritative representation from leading exporters from China dealing in Furniture, Home Appliances, Textiles and Garments, Kitchen and Bathroom, Garden and Leisure, Gifts as well as Lights and Lamps under the Homelife Trade Fair. The Machinex Trade fair catered to buyers looking at top quality and a wide variety of products from Machinery, New Energy, Hardware & Power Tools, Automobiles & Motorcycles, Printing Machinery, Chemicals, Cables & Accessories, Food Processing, Plastic Machinery, Packaging Machinery, Machine Parts & Accessories and High & Low Voltage Electricals.

At the expo over 1200 exhibitors showcased over 25,000 quality products manufactured in China at the most competitive prices.
