China Commissioned 5.2 GW of Solar Power Capacity in Q1
Total installed solar power capacity reached 179 GW by the end of March, the NEA said, up 28% from a year earlier

China has announced that it has added 5.2 GW of installed solar power capacity in the Q1 of 2019, led by new projects in northern and eastern China, the National Energy Administration (NEA) said.
Total installed solar power capacity reached 179 GW by the end of March, the NEA said, up 28% from a year earlier
Xinjiang region and Gansu province, where China has built large-scale solar power projects, are still battling the problem of power going to waste because many sites are not connected to the grid and the surplus power cannot be consumed locally, according to the NEA
