ChargeZone has announced a major step forward in building its nation-wide inter-city super-charging network for electric buses. The company has partnered with Fresh Bus to onboard a full network of Electric Vehicle Charging Station (EVCS) assets from Fresh Bus, thereby strengthening its presence in southern India and accelerating the transition to green mobility.

Speaking on this occasion, Kartikey Hariyani, Founder and CEO, ChargeZone, said, “This strategic partnership is a pivotal step in ChargeZone’s journey to build India’s largest inter-city super-charging network for electric buses. By adding strategically located stations in key southern cities, we are ensuring dependable support for Fresh Bus while creating a scalable ecosystem that can serve all future EV fleets. Our integration of renewable energy at select sites is a vital step in aligning sustainable power with sustainable mobility. At ChargeZone, we believe that long-distance electric travel must be reliable, accessible and environmentally responsible. This milestone brings us closer to that vision and signals the beginning of a transformative phase for India’s green mobility landscape.”

The collaboration provides priority access to Fresh Bus’s fleet, ensuring uninterrupted operations, while also opening the facilities to other EV fleets in the future to maximise utilisation and expand high-capacity charging across the region. A key sustainability feature of the project is the integration of renewable energy at sites in Hyderabad, Visakhapatnam, and Vijayawada, reinforcing ChargeZone’s commitment to powering India’s EV ecosystem with clean energy. This strategic partnership strengthens inter-city connectivity across South India and supports the development of a robust EV charging ecosystem in the region. It also enhances access to some of India’s most significant religious destinations, driving sustainable growth through collaboration and laying the foundation for future projects and long-term partnerships.

Fresh Bus is India’s leading intercity electric bus operator, connecting cities such as Hyderabad, Bengaluru, Chennai, Mysuru, Tirupati, Guntur and Visakhapatnam, and plans to expand its footprint across India with over 5,000 EV buses over the next five years.

Sudhakar Reddy, Founder, Fresh Bus, added, “Since 2023, we have been working closely with ChargeZone in this important transition, and as Fresh Bus, we have always been committed to make inter-city travel cleaner, safer and more sustainable. We are partnering with ChargeZone because of their proven expertise in managing high-capacity and super-charging networks. Through this integration, our charging stations will be better managed under their dedicated surveillance, resulting in improved operational efficiency that directly benefits our fleet and enhances service reliability. This collaboration not only strengthens our operations, but also contributes to the wider EV ecosystem by creating facilities that other fleets can benefit from. Together, we are enabling a new era of long-distance electric mobility in India, one that combines passenger comfort, operational reliability and environmental responsibility.”

This integration represents a major milestone in ChargeZone’s vision to enable green inter-city travel and build a future-ready charging network for India’s growing EV bus ecosystem. It also aligns with ChargeZone’s mission to deploy one million charging points across India and expand the EV ecosystem through localised infrastructure development. With over 13,500 charging points across 1,200 locations already operational, ChargeZone is building critical facilities where they are needed the most, from highways and city centres to emerging regional corridors, while enabling more stakeholders to participate in the EV transition.
