CESC Signs Long-Term PPAs with Four Developers for 600 MW Wind-Solar Hybrid Power

CESC Ltd. has signed 25-year PPAs for 600 MW of wind-solar hybrid power with Vismaya Renewables (UPC Renewables subsidiary), Purvah Green Power, Hexa Climate Solutions, and Sprng Energy at tariffs of around INR 3.74-3.75/kWh.

CESC Ltd. has announced that it has signed Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs) with four renewable energy developers for the procurement of 600 MW of power from grid-connected wind-solar hybrid projects.

It has signed a PPA with Vismaya Renewables India Project, a subsidiary of UPC Renewables, for 100 MW at a tariff of INR 3.74/kWh.

CESC has signed PPAs with Purvah Green Power and Hexa Climate Solutions for 300 MW and 100 MW, respectively, at a tariff of INR 3.75/kWh. It has signed another PPA with Sprng Energy for 100 MW.

All these PPAs will be for a period of 25 years.

The four companies secured the capacities in an auction held in February 2026. The tender was floated in November 2025.

Identification of land, installation and ownership of the project, along with obtaining connectivity and necessary approvals and interconnection with the ISTS network for the supply of power to CESC, will be under the scope of the developers.

Developers must use type-certified wind turbine models listed in the Approved List of Models and Manufacturers (Wind) for the wind projects. For the solar projects, the modules must be included in ALMM List-l and the cells used in the modules must be included in ALMM List-II.

The declared annual Capacity Utilisation Factor (CUF) must not be less than 50 percent for any of the year during the term of the PPA.

The developers must install and maintain GPS-enabled Automatic Weather Stations (AWS).
