Brazil Seeks Stronger Green Energy Partnership with India

Brazil has expressed interest in expanding its cooperation with India in renewable energy and the broader transition towards a low carbon economy, highlighting its long experience in developing alternative energy solutions.

Roberto Carlos Razera Papa, Agricultural Attache at the Embassy of Brazil in India, said that the two countries could benefit from greater exchange of knowledge and experience as India accelerates its clean energy transition.

Brazil has been developing renewable and alternative energy programmes for several decades, particularly in areas linked to biofuels and clean mobility. The country now sees scope to share its experience with India while exploring opportunities for collaboration across the green energy sector.

Razera said that the energy transition needs to consider not only environmental objectives but also economic and social factors. He added that cooperation between Brazil and India could help identify practical approaches that support sustainable development.

Energy is also likely to remain an important area of engagement between the two countries through the BRICS grouping, as members seek greater cooperation on energy security and the transition towards cleaner energy sources.

India is simultaneously expanding its clean mobility ecosystem through electric vehicles, biofuels, compressed biogas and compressed natural gas as it works to reduce emissions from the transport sector.
