Boviet Solar Technology Co. Ltd., a Vietnam-based solar energy technology company specializing in manufacturing monocrystalline PV cells and modules, has announced its selection of Greenville, Pitt County, North Carolina as the location for its inaugural production facility in North America.

The manufacturing facility, comprising two phases, represents a total investment of USD 294 million and is expected to create approximately 908 skilled local jobs, contributing to the economic growth of the region.

This marks Boviet Solar's first manufacturing facility in the United States and the second globally, building upon its successful track record in PV cell and module production in Vietnam.

Jimmy Xie, General Manager of Boviet Solar, expressed pride in the company's expansion into the US market stating, “Our dreams of producing our PV modules in the US finally come to realization. We are proud of bringing our manufacturing excellence to our most important solar market, creating jobs, and making a positive impact on North Carolina’s economy. We are committed to expanding solar as a widely used renewable energy source in the US and delivering locally made, top-performing PV modules to accelerate the advent of the global renewable revolution.”

Scott Chen, Vice President of Global Sales and Marketing, underlined the strategic significance of the manufacturing facility in North Carolina, emphasizing the company's dedication to providing top-quality products and services to its clients. “We are excited about the establishment of a manufacturing facility in North Carolina, which will allow us to bring ‘Made in USA’ products to the market," Chen said.

The PV module manufacturing facility will produce Boviet Solar's TOPCon N-Type cell-based Monofacial and Bifacial PV modules for various sectors, including residential, commercial, industrial, and utility-scale projects. Phase one of the project will utilize an existing building, while phase two will involve constructing a state-of-the-art factory on 34 acres to manufacture PV cells. The facility is expected to output 2 GW of solar panels and 2 GW of PV cells annually, with mass production scheduled to commence in Q1 2025.

North Carolina Governor Roy Cooper welcomed Boviet Solar's decision, highlighting the state's reputation as a hub for clean energy and its supportive environment for advanced manufacturers.
