Boond to Install 1.75MW Solar Project at British American Tobacco’s Bangladesh Facility

Boond Engineering Bangladesh, an arm of Boond Engineering & Development Pvt Ltd, has secured a contract from international tobacco group, British American Tobacco (BAT), to install a solar plant of approx 1.75 MW capacity at its facility in Bangladesh.

Boond Engineering Bangladesh, an arm of Boond Engineering & Development Pvt Ltd, has secured a contract from international tobacco group, British American Tobacco (BAT), to install a solar plant of approx 1.75 MW capacity at its facility in Bangladesh.

British American Tobacco (BAT), established in 1902, is a British multinational company that manufactures and sells cigarettes, tobacco and other nicotine products. As of 2019, it is the largest cigarette manufacturer in the world based on net sales.

The scope of the project includes entire project development life cycle from design, manufacture, erection, testing and commissioning.

Commenting on winning the project, Bhaskar Palit, Managing Director, Boond Engineering and Development Pvt Ltd, said that, “British American Tobacco (BAT), Bangladesh, a British Multinational, has awarded a contract to our sister concern Boond Engineering Bangladesh Pvt Ltd, to develop a Solar plant of capacity 1.75MWp in their premises in Bangladesh.”

He further added “it is an honour and privilege to be appointed as the partner of BAT, Bangladesh in their Green Energy journey and we are committed to deliver the very best.”

This project win is a significant achievement for Boond Solar and it has committed to deliver its best for the project.

The company has specialization in providing customized solar solutions across the spectrum of solar energy solutions, such as grid interactive rooftop solar, distributed renewable energy (mini/micro grids) and standalone solutions (SHS and customized livelihood solutions).

It has presence in states like Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, Delhi NCR and other Northern states and now expanding its base to Eastern and North Eastern states in the country. Besides, it has also forayed into international market and is presently developing projects in Bangladesh.
