Bondada Engineering Secures INR 627 Cr LOA for 225 MW/450 MWh Standalone BESS from AP TRANSCO

Bondada Engineering has received an INR 627 crore Letter of Award from AP TRANSCO to develop a 225 MW/450 MWh standalone BESS project at Hindupur in Andhra Pradesh under the BOO model.

Bondada Engineering has announced that the company has received a Letter of Award (LOA) worth about INR 627 crore from Transmission Corporation of Andhra Pradesh (AP TRANSCO) for the development of a 225 MW/450 MWh standalone Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) project.

The project will be set up under the build, own, and operate (BOO) model and must be commissioned within 18 months from the receipt of the LOA, the company stated in a regulatory filing.

The company won the capacity at APTRANSCO’s auction held in November 2025 for setting up standalone battery energy storage systems (BESS) at seven sub-stations of APTRANSCO with a cumulative capacity of 1,000 MW/2,000 MWh. Bondada Engineering secured 225 MW/450 MWh at the Hindupur substation at a tariff of INR 1.64 lakh/MW/month.

With the receipt of this order, Bondada Engineering's cumulative BESS portfolio now stands at nearly 1 GWh, the company stated.

The project is expected to be executed within the stipulated timeline and will contribute meaningfully to revenues post construction phase, while generating stable, long-term annuity income, thereby enhancing shareholder value and earnings visibility, it said.
