Hyderabad-based Bondada Engineering Ltd. has secured a INR 1,338 crore Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) contract from NTPC Renewable Energy Ltd. (NTPC REL) for a 250 MW solar photovoltaic project coupled with a 50 MW/200 MWh Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) in Sitapur, Uttar Pradesh.

The project, awarded through a Notification of Award (NOA), is scheduled for completion within 18 months and represents one of the company's largest renewable energy contracts to date. The contract value includes GST.

The project is part of NTPC REL's strategy to expand utility-scale renewable energy capacity while integrating energy storage systems to improve grid reliability and support round-the-clock clean power supply. The combination of solar generation and battery storage is increasingly being adopted as India accelerates its energy transition.

With this order, Bondada Engineering's solar EPC order book has increased to around 5.5 GWp, while its BESS order book has reached approximately 1.1 GWh, strengthening the company's project pipeline and revenue visibility.

Commenting on the development, Bondada Group Chairman and Managing Director Dr. Bondada Raghavendra Rao said that the award reflects the company's engineering expertise, execution capabilities and commitment to supporting India's clean energy goals. He added that the company remains focused on delivering the project with high standards of quality, safety and efficiency.

The latest win is expected to contribute significantly to Bondada Engineering's future revenues while enhancing its presence in both the solar EPC and energy storage segments. The company said that the project aligns with its strategy of expanding its role across renewable energy, power systems, telecom and transportation infrastructure.
