BluPine Energy Pvt. Ltd., an Actis-backed renewable energy platform, has announced a significant milestone in its sustainability journey by generating over 740,510 MWh of clean energy during the financial year 2023–24.
This achievement helped the company avoid approximately 673,864 tonnes of carbon dioxide equivalent emissions, underscoring its commitment to combating climate change.
The company also released its inaugural Sustainability Report for FY24, outlining its Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) performance and ambitious goals, including achieving Net Zero emissions by 2040 and Water Neutrality by 2027. Prepared in accordance with the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) 2021 Standards, the report highlights BluPine Energy’s dedication to transparency and accountable growth in sustainability practices.
Neerav Nanavaty, Chief Executive Officer of BluPine Energy, emphasized the company’s fresh yet firm commitment to embedding sustainability into its core operations. “As a company just three years young, we are embedding sustainability into our DNA from the outset. Our goal is to grow our operational clean energy capacity by over three times in the next three years,” he said.
Sustainability is central to BluPine’s design philosophy. Chief Sustainability Officer Sumit Barat explained that integrating ESG factors into every phase of asset planning, procurement, and operations ensures that the company builds a renewable energy platform that is scalable and resilient for the future.
On the environmental front, BluPine Energy is making strides in water conservation by deploying robotic cleaning systems across its solar sites. Currently, 48 percent of its sites are equipped with these water-saving robotic dry-cleaning systems, which reduce water use by up to 20 litres per cleaning cycle. The company aims to achieve 90 percent robotic cleaning deployment across all operational sites soon.
Governance and ethical compliance remain a priority for BluPine Energy, which reported zero incidents of bribery or data breaches during FY24. The company also boasts gender diversity, with women comprising 20 percent of its board. Additionally, BluPine’s operations are certified under international standards such as ISO 9001 for Quality Management, ISO 14001 for Environmental Management, and ISO 45001 for Occupational Health and Safety.
BluPine Energy’s social initiatives are equally robust. It operates five renewable energy skill development centers in Gujarat, training over 140 individuals in FY24, with women making up 37 percent of the trainees. Beyond Gujarat, the company runs community development programs across Punjab, Telangana, and Rajasthan, enhancing education, science literacy, and access to clean lighting in rural areas. Over 1,000 rural youths across Gujarat, Chhattisgarh, Rajasthan, and Karnataka are currently benefiting from BluPine’s skill-building efforts.
With a diversified portfolio spanning roughly 3 GW of solar, wind, and hybrid projects, BluPine Energy is playing a key role in accelerating India’s clean energy transition. Its strong ESG foundation and stakeholder-centric approach are setting new benchmarks for sustainability leadership in the renewable energy sector.
