BLive, an integrated commercial electric vehicle mobility platform, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Tata Motors to deploy up to 1,000 Tata electric mini trucks through BLive PRIME, its franchise owned commercial EV fleet programme.

The partnership is aimed at scaling electric cargo mobility in India and accelerating the adoption of electric vehicles for last mile and intra city logistics. BLive recently launched BLive PRIME with a INR 100 crore investment commitment to support large scale electric fleet adoption and expand the use of electric vehicles in the green delivery ecosystem.

As the first phase of the partnership, BLive has inducted its initial batch of Tata Ace Pro EVs. The vehicles will be deployed for enterprise logistics operations, with additional batches planned to be rolled out in phases over the coming months.

Under the BLive PRIME franchise owned fleet model, entrepreneurs and businesses can invest in and own fleets of electric cargo vehicles with an initial investment of around INR 45 lakh. BLive manages the fleet lifecycle, including enterprise demand generation, vehicle deployment, fleet technology, charging ecosystem integration, maintenance and day to day operations. Franchise owners earn rentals from the deployed vehicles while BLive manages their utilisation and operations.

Sandeep Mukherjee, Founder and CEO, BLive, said that the cargo EV segment is witnessing growing demand as businesses assess electric fleets for intra city logistics. He said that  commercial EV adoption requires an integrated ecosystem covering vehicles, charging, technology, maintenance and fleet operations.

“Through our franchise owned fleet programme, we are enabling entrepreneurs to own productive electric cargo assets and earn from fleet rentals. At the same time, BLive manages enterprise deployment and end to end operations. Our plan to deploy more than 1,000 Tata Ace EVs reflects our ambition to build scale and establish BLive as a leading player in India’s Cargo EV segment,” Mukherjee said.

India has an estimated 4.5 million to 5 million light commercial vehicles (LCVs) operating on its roads, with the majority still powered by diesel. Electric penetration in the cargo LCV segment remains below 1 percent, indicating substantial scope for electrification.

BLive plans to deploy its franchise owned electric cargo fleets across sectors including manufacturing, warehousing, e commerce, quick commerce, retail distribution, FMCG, construction, pharmaceuticals and third party logistics.

Pinaki Haldar, Vice President and Business Head, SCVPU, Tata Motors, said that the partnership would support the expansion of electric cargo mobility solutions. He said that Tata Motors offers a portfolio comprising the Ace Pro EV, Ace EV and Intra EV to address different commercial cargo applications.

“With the Ace Pro EV, an accessible and efficient solution for small businesses, the proven Ace EV for last mile logistics, and the high performance Intra EV for larger cargo applications, Tata Motors offers a comprehensive electric SCV and pick up portfolio to address diverse customer needs,” Haldar said.

The partnership comes amid increasing demand for electric cargo vehicles from e commerce, quick commerce, organised retail, manufacturing and urban supply chains. Businesses are increasingly considering electric commercial vehicles to lower operating costs, meet sustainability objectives and improve the economics of high utilisation intra city logistics.

BLive PRIME integrates vehicle procurement, financing, customer acquisition, charging, technology, maintenance and fleet operations into a single commercial EV ecosystem. Under the model, franchise partners own the electric cargo vehicles while BLive manages their deployment and operations based on enterprise logistics requirements.

BLive said its commercial electric fleets already serve enterprise customers and logistics partners including Hyperpure, Porter and Delhivery. The company is expanding its presence across e commerce, quick commerce, retail, manufacturing and supply chain operations.

The company aims to use its franchise owned fleet model to expand fleet capacity while providing enterprises with access to professionally managed electric cargo fleets. Its roadmap to deploy more than 1,000 Tata Ace EVs is expected to strengthen its presence in India's commercial electric mobility market.

BLive operates two franchise models. BLive EZY focuses on electric two wheelers for e commerce and quick commerce deliveries, while BLive PRIME is focused on four wheeler electric mobility. Under BLive EZY, franchisees can invest INR 25 lakh to own an EV fleet, with BLive managing deployment, maintenance and rider management.

BLive PRIME follows a 100 percent franchisee owned and company operated structure. With an entry investment starting at INR 45 lakh, investors own electric mini truck fleets while BLive manages deployment, utilisation, maintenance and other operational requirements.
