BikeWo Signs MoU with Hala Mobility to Deploy 1,000 EVs, Targets 10,000 Vehicles in Three Years

BikeWo Green Tech Ltd. has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Hyderabad based Hala Mobility to explore electric vehicle fleet deployment and management, starting with approximately 1,000 EVs and potentially scaling to around 10,000 vehicles over the next three years.

The partnership is aimed at developing a scalable EV fleet operating model covering vehicle deployment, fleet utilisation, vehicle management and other operational requirements. The initial deployment will serve as the first phase of the proposed collaboration, with subsequent expansion to be determined by operational performance, commercial viability and market requirements.

Under the proposed arrangement, BikeWo and Hala Mobility will work towards establishing the operational framework for deploying and managing the initial fleet. The companies will use insights from the first phase to assess the pace and scope of further deployment.

The companies have outlined a potential scale up to approximately 10,000 electric vehicles over three years. However, the proposed expansion will depend on the outcome of the initial phase and the commercial and operational arrangements mutually agreed between the two companies.

The partnership could also be extended to new geographies, vehicle segments and customer categories as the collaboration develops. Beyond fleet deployment, the companies plan to explore opportunities in vehicle leasing, fleet management, charging infrastructure, energy solutions, technology platforms, maintenance and servicing, enterprise mobility and logistics applications.

Hiten Pal Saklani, Chief Executive Officer of BikeWo Green Tech Ltd., said that the collaboration is intended to build capabilities across EV deployment, utilisation, maintenance, technology and fleet management. He added that beginning with approximately 1,000 vehicles would allow the companies to establish the foundation for a larger scale operating model, while the proposed 10,000 vehicle roadmap reflects the potential of the partnership.

The MoU is part of BikeWo’s broader strategy to develop an integrated mobility and logistics platform. The company is building capabilities across electric mobility, fleet operations, vehicle leasing, servicing and maintenance, energy infrastructure, logistics and technology enabled mobility solutions, while pursuing strategic partnerships, investments and acquisitions across the mobility value chain.

Hala Mobility is a Hyderabad based EV as a Service platform focused on last mile delivery, gig economy riders and fleet operators. It provides electric vehicles through rental, leasing and other deployment models and currently operates across nine cities.

The MoU is non binding, and the proposed vehicle deployments are indicative business objectives. Any specific deployment, commercial commitment or scale up will be subject to definitive agreements, applicable approvals and other customary conditions.
