Bijliride, India’s SaaS-powered electric two-wheeler rental platform, has launched its Franchise-Owned, Franchise-Operated (FOFO) expansion model, marking a strategic push to democratise EV entrepreneurship and accelerate clean mobility adoption across urban India.

As per the firm, under the new model, the company plans to expand its footprint to Bengaluru, Mumbai, Chennai and Delhi NCR, with a target of onboarding over 20 franchise partners and deploying 5,000 electric two-wheelers by FY2026. The initiative is designed to enable local entrepreneurs, SMEs and fleet operators to enter the EV ecosystem through a capital-efficient and community-driven framework.

The FOFO model provides franchise partners access to Bijliride’s proprietary fleet management technology, along with end-to-end operational, branding and marketing support. Strategic tie-ups with OEMs and financial institutions further simplify vehicle procurement and financing, making the model accessible to first-time EV entrepreneurs and small business owners.

As per the structure, profits are shared in a 70:30 ratio between Bijliride and franchise partners. With an initial investment of INR 14–16 lakh for a 50-vehicle fleet, franchisees are expected to achieve breakeven within 13 months of stable operations. While Bijliride manages technology, lead generation and brand consistency, franchise owners oversee local operations, fleet efficiency and customer engagement.

Commenting on the launch, Shivam Sisodiya, CEO and Co-Founder, Bijliride, said that the franchise model is aimed at making electric mobility scalable, profitable and inclusive. He added that empowering local business owners through a tech-enabled platform would help accelerate India’s transition to clean and sustainable urban mobility.

With this move, Bijliride is strengthening its long-term vision of building a decentralised EV rental network that supports local entrepreneurship while addressing urban challenges such as pollution and rising commuting costs.
