Electric mobility startup Bijliride said it has added six new franchise partners in Hyderabad as part of its plan to expand operations across more than 25 cities in India.
The company aims to onboard up to 30 franchise partners by March 2027 and scale its electric two-wheeler fleet to 10,000–15,000 units over the next 12–18 months. It expects the expansion to support about 150 percent growth in fleet operations during the period.
Bijliride is expanding its franchise network under a Franchise Owned–Franchise Operated (FOFO) model, where local partners own and manage fleets while the company provides technology and operational support.
The firm said it is evaluating markets including Chennai, Bengaluru, Mumbai, Delhi NCR, Jaipur, Patna, Indore, Bhopal, Kolkata, Lucknow and Ahmedabad, citing rising demand from logistics firms, gig economy platforms and urban commuters.
Under the model, franchise partners typically deploy fleets of around 50 electric two-wheelers, with an estimated investment of 1.4 - 1.6 million rupees. The company said the model is designed to break even within 12–15 months under stable utilisation conditions.
Chief Executive Officer and Co-Founder Shivam Sisodiya said, “Electric mobility demand in India is growing rapidly, particularly among gig workers and last-mile delivery operators. At this stage, our focus is disciplined scale. The FOFO model allows us to grow responsibly by partnering with local entrepreneurs who understand their markets while leveraging our technology platform and operational systems. This structure enables us to expand faster while ensuring fleets are managed efficiently on the ground.”
Bijliride provides services such as real-time tracking, fleet analytics, rental management and battery support systems, and also assists franchise partners with driver onboarding and demand generation.
Founded in 2020, the company operates a fleet of over 4,000 electric vehicles and offers rental and enterprise mobility solutions, targeting wider adoption of electric two-wheelers in urban markets.
