Bihar Discom Invites Bids for 275 MW Rooftop Solar Projects Under PM Surya Ghar Yojana

South Bihar Power Distribution Company has invited bids to develop 275 MW of grid-connected rooftop solar projects under the PM Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana across 2.5 lakh kutirjyoti (BPL) households in Bihar.

South Bihar Power Distribution Company (SBPDCL) has floated a tender to select solar power developers to set up a cumulative of 275 MW grid-connected rooftop solar projects under PM Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojna.

The scope of work includes installing rooftop solar plants with a capacity of about 1.1 kW for up to 2.5 lakh kutirjyoti households in the 9 circles of SBPDCL and 9 circles of North Bihar Power Distribution Company (NBPDCL), under CAPEX plus RESCO mode in the utility-led aggregation (ULA) model.

Bidders need to pay INR 29,500 for the bid document. Further, they need to furnish INR 1 lakh/MW as an earnest money deposit (EMD).

The last date for submission of bids is January 30, 2026 till 3:00 PM. The techno-commercial bids will be opened on the same day at 4:00 PM.

Currently, the State Government provides around INR 8,000 crore every year as subsidies to consumers under the Kutir Jyoti Scheme for BPL families.
