Bhilwara Energy Appoints Basant Jain as Joint Managing Director and CEO

Bhilwara Energy Ltd. has appointed Basant Jain as Joint Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer. In his new role, Jain will steer the company’s strategic direction and growth, focusing on expanding its renewable energy portfolio, enhancing operational efficiencies, and driving sustainable value creation across its energy and greentech businesses.

Jain brings over 25 years of experience across renewable energy, infrastructure, and clean technology. Prior to this appointment, he was the Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Aplos Ventures Pvt. ltd., where he focused on strategic incubation and entrepreneurship in the solar and cleantech space.

Earlier, he served as Chief Executive Officer of Mahindra Susten for over 11 years, during which he played a key role in building the company into one of India’s leading solar project developers. Under his leadership, Mahindra Susten executed more than 1,000 MW of solar capacity, contributing significantly to India’s renewable energy deployment.

The Board of LNJ Bhilwara Group said Jain’s extensive industry expertise, proven ability to scale energy platforms, and strategic leadership would support the Group’s ambition to accelerate growth in its greentech business and strengthen its contribution to India’s clean energy transition.

Commenting on his appointment, Jain said that he was excited to join the Group at a pivotal time for the clean energy sector and looked forward to driving innovation, operational excellence, and long-term value for stakeholders, while advancing the Group’s sustainability goals.

Jain’s career also includes senior leadership roles at Vedanta Resources, Mahindra Group, Hinduja Renewables, GVK Group, and Raymond, where he led business transformation initiatives, strategic planning, and large-scale operations.
