BHEL Secures Largest Order for Solar Photovoltaic Plant in Telangana

The scale of work will include the design, development, supply, installation, and commissioning of the project on an Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) basis

Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL) has announced that it has bagged an order for setting up 129 MW Solar Photovoltaic (SPV) power plants in Telangana from Singareni Collieries Company Limited.

Considerably, valued at Rs.565 Crore, this is the major SPV power plant order secured by BHEL till date.

The plants are to be set up at four locations in Telangana – Ramagundam (50 MW), Yellandu (39 MW), Manuguru (30 MW) and Pegadapally (10 MW). And the scale of work will include the design, development, supply, installation, and commissioning of the project on an Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) basis.

BHEL has notably contributed to the ‘Make in India’ initiative of GoI and various initiatives for developing and encouraging renewable energy based products and services on a continued basis. The company has also improved its state-of-the-art manufacturing lines of solar cells and solar modules. In addition to this, it is also accumulating a space-grade solar panel using high-efficiency cells at its Electronic Systems Division, Bengaluru.
