BHEL Secures INR 1,200-1,500 Cr Captive Power Plant Order from Steel Authority of India

Bharat Heavy Electricals has secured an INR 1,200–1,500 crore LoA from Steel Authority of India for a captive power plant package at its IISCO Steel Plant in Burnpur, West Bengal.

Bharat Heavy Electricals (BHEL) has announced that the company has received a Letter of Acceptance (LoA) worth about INR 1,200-1,500 crore from Steel Authority of India (SAIL) for a captive power plant package at SAIL’s IISCO Steel Plant, Burnpur, West Bengal.

The LoA received is for the CPP Package-1, which is part of a 4.08 MTPA crude steel expansion project of SAIL’s Burnpur plant, the company stated in a regulatory filing.

The LoA covers design, engineering, manufacturing, supply, erection, commissioning, and performance guarantee testing of the CPP package on a turnkey basis, excluding civil works.

The project is scheduled for commissioning within 39 months from the effective date of the contract, strengthening BHEL’s position in the large industrial power infrastructure.
