BHEL Issues Tender for Procurement of Solar Cable for 50 MW Solar Plant in Maharashtra

Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL) has announced that it has released a tender for the obtaining of 4 sqm solar cable for the MAHAGENCO 50 MW solar PV power project under development in Kaudgaon, Maharashtra.

The scope of work for the nominated vendor will include the testing and supply of the EBXL XLPO (solar cable) for the tendered capacity of 700 km. The manufacturer has specified two different types of solar cables that are needed for the project, EBXL XLPO in Black and the same wire but with red line configuration.

To be qualified, a bidder should have an in house electron beam cross-link facility. And should have successfully supplied cable 1Cx4 sq. mm or higher size Cu cable for solar power plants for at least 50 MW single capacity solar projects. Additionally, the vendor should have type test certificates for the copper cables with EBXL XLPO insulation and outer sheath layers as per EN 50618 standards.
