BHEL adds 1,625 MW of power generating capacity to the National Grid in 24 hours

The company is active in conventional and renewable power business segments. In the last financial year they commissioned 13 MW of Solar Power Plants in various parts of the country.

Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL) has achieved a new landmark in capacity addition with four of its projects viz. 525 MW Unit-2 of Maithon Power, 500 MW Unit-2 of KPCL Bellary, 500 MW Unit-2 of DVC Durgapur and 100 MW Unit-4 of THDC Koteshwar (Hydro) getting synchronized and achieving full load in the last 24 hours.

With this, the total power project capacity commissioned by BHEL in the current year till 23rd March, 2012 stands at 7,900 MW.

BHEL has fully established state-of-the-art technology for manufacture of thermal sets up to 600 MW rating in the sub-critical range and has the capability to manufacture sets up to 1,000 MW rating. The company has also equipped itself to produce 660 MW / 700 MW / 800 MW thermal sets with supercritical parameters, and is shoring up its capability for higher rating Hydro sets and advanced class Gas Turbines to cater to upcoming market requirements.
