Bharat Renewable Energy Summit and Expo 2026 to Be Held in New Delhi from November 2–5

The Bharat Renewable Energy Summit & Expo (BRE Summit & Expo) 2026 will be held from November 2 to 5 at Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi, Union Minister for New and Renewable Energy Pralhad Joshi announced during the curtain raiser event on July 23.

The summit will, for the first time, bring together three major renewable energy events under one platform, the BRE Summit & Expo 2026, the 9th Session of the International Solar Alliance (ISA) Assembly and the 4th International Conference on Green Hydrogen (ICGH).

Joshi said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has agreed to inaugurate the summit, highlighting India's commitment to renewable energy as a key pillar of Viksit Bharat and its contribution to global sustainable development.

The event is expected to bring together renewable energy developers, technology companies, manufacturers, battery storage firms, green hydrogen companies, financial institutions, international organisations and investors, covering the entire clean energy value chain.

The minister said that invitations have been extended to 34 countries for the BRE Summit & Expo, while the International Solar Alliance has invited 128 countries for its Assembly.

Joshi also said that India is expected to soon cross 300 GW of installed non fossil fuel capacity, while the PM Surya Ghar: Muft Bijli Yojana is likely to cross 50 lakh beneficiary households in the coming weeks.

The summit will focus on emerging opportunities, investments, innovation and international cooperation in the clean energy transition. During the curtain raiser, Joshi unveiled the official logo of BRE Summit & Expo 2026, 'URJHA Chakra', and launched the event's digital portal and mobile application.

Minister of State for Power and New and Renewable Energy Shripad Yesso Naik highlighted the role of states in India's renewable energy transition, citing solar development in Rajasthan, the hybrid renewable energy park at Khavda in Gujarat, and advancements in hydropower, floating solar, biomass and decentralised renewable energy.

MNRE Secretary Santosh Kumar Sarangi said that India's renewable energy transformation has been driven by policy stability, market creation, ecosystem development and transmission infrastructure. He added that the next phase will focus on hybrid renewable energy projects, battery energy storage systems, floating solar, agrivoltaics and the National Green Hydrogen Mission.
