Avaada Group’s Chairman, Vineet Mittal, while addressing at the Bharat Renewable Energy Summit (BRES) 2026, called for positioning Bihar as a major destination for green manufacturing, renewable energy investment, industrial development and employment generation.
Outlining an ambitious vision for Bihar's economic transformation and invoking the state’s extraordinary civilisational heritage, Mittal said, "Bihar is not merely a state of India. Bihar is one of the foundations of Indian civilisation. When the world sought knowledge, it came to Nalanda. When humanity sought enlightenment, Lord Buddha found it in Bodh Gaya. When Bharat needed the wisdom of governance, Chanakya helped shape the Mauryan Empire. And when India needed courage against colonial injustice, Gandhi Ji's Champaran Satyagraha awakened a nation. Bihar did not merely witness history. Bihar created history. And I believe its greatest chapter is still waiting to be written."
He called for a transformation in which Bihar's young people find dignified employment and entrepreneurial opportunities within their home state.
Highlighting Bihar's economic potential, he advocated an ambitious goal of building a USD 200 billion state economy by 2030, supported by industrialisation, manufacturing, infrastructure development and investment.
Mittal emphasised that the next phase of industrial competitiveness will increasingly depend on access to affordable, reliable and clean energy.
He proposed developing integrated green industrial corridors supported by renewable electricity, battery energy storage, reliable power supply, ready industrial land, modern infrastructure and streamlined regulatory approvals.
He also highlighted opportunities for Bihar to emerge as a centre for food processing, solar equipment, electronics, battery manufacturing and engineering industries.
Mittal identified five key areas requiring coordinated action to accelerate industrial development in Bihar. These include developing investment-ready green industrial clusters equipped with land, electricity, roads, water and essential infrastructure; ensuring competitive and reliable power access through affordable renewable electricity, open access, energy storage and long-term supply arrangements; and promoting agricultural value addition through solar irrigation, cold-chain infrastructure, food processing and bioenergy to increase farmers' incomes.
He also emphasised the need to develop future-ready skills through modern institutions focused on Artificial Intelligence (AI), automation, electronics, renewable energy and advanced manufacturing, while strengthening investor confidence through single-window clearances, transparent processes and predictable policy frameworks to accelerate industrial investment.
Concluding his address, Mittal called for a renewed vision of Bihar that draws inspiration from its civilisational legacy while embracing modern industry and innovation.
