Atal Solar, a solar module manufacturer based in Rajkot, Gujarat, has secured ALMM approval for 1.44 GW of solar PV module manufacturing capacity, marking a key milestone in the company's expansion and efforts to serve India's growing renewable-energy sector.

The Approved List of Models and Manufacturers (ALMM) is maintained by the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE), Government of India. Solar PV module models and manufacturers included in List-I are eligible for use in specified government and government-assisted projects, government schemes and programmes, as well as applicable open-access and net-metering projects in India.

According to the company's official profile, Atal Solar reached an annual manufacturing capacity of 1.44 GW in 2026, following earlier capacity expansion milestones. The latest approval strengthens its ability to participate in eligible solar projects requiring ALMM-listed modules.

Atal Solar manufactures N-Type TOPCon solar PV modules for utility-scale, commercial and industrial (C&I), rooftop and other solar installations. Its manufacturing operations incorporate automation, AI-enabled inspection, Automated Optical Inspection (AOI) and Manufacturing Execution System (MES) capabilities, with a focus on consistency, process control and long-term module reliability. The company is also developing high-efficiency TOPCon bifacial modules.

It may be mentioned that India's solar manufacturing ecosystem has expanded under the country's broader renewable-energy and domestic manufacturing initiatives. MNRE continues to update ALMM List-I as manufacturers and solar PV module models are approved and revised. The latest publicly listed MNRE update available in September 2026 was the September 16 revision of ALMM List-I for solar PV modules.

As per the firm, the latest approval is part of its broader objective of developing a solar manufacturing platform focused on advanced module technology, automated production and inspection, reliable supply, product performance, responsible and transparent business practices, and support for India's clean-energy transition.

“Atal Solar is committed to combining manufacturing scale with technology, quality and reliability. The ALMM approval for 1.44 GW strengthens our ability to serve eligible projects in India and represents another important milestone in our journey as an Indian solar module manufacturer,” the company said.
