Asia-Pacific renewable energy auctions in H1 2019 totaled 32, marking a huge rise compared with one auction in H1 2018, according to GlobalData.

India leads Asia-Pacific activity
Looking at renewable energy auctions by country, India held the top position with 21 auctions and a share of 65.6% during H1 2019, followed by Kazakhstan with eight auctions and a share of 25% and Uzbekistan with two auctions and a share of 6.3%.
In fourth place was Malaysia with one auction and a share of 3.1%. Solar is top technology area for renewable energy auctions in H1 2019
Looking at renewable energy auctions divided by the type of technology in Asia-Pacific, Solar accounted for the largest proportion with 23 auctions and a 71.9% share, followed by Wind with five auctions and a 15.6% share and Hydro with three auctions and a 9.4% share.

1.Solar Energy Corporation of India (India): 12,969.5MW from eleven auctions
2.NTPC (India): 2,015MW from three auctions
3.Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution (India): 1,500MW from two auctions.
