Arkannect, a distributed solar platform and subsidiary of AB Energia, has launched its first hybrid inverter and battery storage products for homes and small businesses.
The initial range includes a 3 kW hybrid inverter and a 5.12 kWh lithium iron phosphate battery, assembled in India using imported cells. Commercial availability is expected shortly. As per the firm, it plans to initially target customers in Maharashtra, Kerala, Uttar Pradesh and Madhya Pradesh.
The company said that the products are designed to combine rooftop solar management and energy storage, with customers able to use stored electricity when solar generation is low, depending on system configuration and battery capacity.
The battery carries a 10-year warranty and has an expected life of about 6,000 cycles, according to Arkannect. The company said it will also offer installation, financing and maintenance, supported by an app-based customer interface. Its services will focus in part on Tier 2 and Tier 3 markets.
Arkannect is targeting INR 225 crore in revenue in its first year and INR 1,000 crore over three years. It also aims to reach 15,000 households.
“Energy storage can help households and small businesses make better use of solar power, particularly when generation and consumption do not coincide,” said Sagar Saxena, chief executive officer of Arkannect. He said that the company aims to combine solar and storage products with installation, financing and ongoing maintenance support.
Arkannect offers system design, financing, installation and maintenance for residential and small-business customers. It says it draws on AB Energia’s engineering, procurement and construction expertise and a network of local partners.
