ARC Electric has expanded its electric vehicle fleet to 150 premium SUVs in the Delhi NCR region, positioning itself as the largest operator in the high-end electric fleet mobility segment.
The development reflects a broader shift in India’s electric mobility landscape, where demand from enterprises and government agencies is driving large-scale adoption beyond pilot projects. Premium mobility segments such as executive transportation and airport transfers, traditionally dominated by diesel vehicles—are increasingly transitioning to electric alternatives, supported by improving cost economics and rising ESG commitments.
While India’s EV growth has largely been led by two-wheelers and small commercial vehicles, high-utilisation SUV fleets have remained relatively underpenetrated. ARC Electric’s scale-up marks a significant step in expanding electrification into this segment, where operational efficiency and reliability are critical.
According to the company, its cluster-based deployment strategy has helped address one of the key challenges in EV fleet operations, vehicle utilisation. By optimising routing and reducing idle movement, ARC Electric has lowered non-revenue kilometres from 30–40 percentt to around 10–15 percent, improving overall fleet productivity and profitability.
The company operates on a technology-driven, asset-light model, collaborating with leasing firms, NBFCs and fleet partners to expand without significant capital expenditure. Its electric SUVs offer running costs of nearly INR 2 per kilometre, compared to INR 5–6 per kilometre for conventional internal combustion engine vehicles, strengthening the economic case for enterprise adoption.
Industry trends indicate that EV adoption in India is increasingly being driven by performance, cost efficiency and execution capabilities rather than policy incentives alone. ARC Electric’s continued growth, supported by partnerships with organisations such as Invest India, highlights the role of fleet-led electrification in scaling up EV penetration.
As India pushes towards higher electric mobility adoption, enterprise-driven, high-utilisation segments are expected to play a pivotal role, with premium electric fleets emerging as a key growth area in the country’s evolving transportation ecosystem.
