ANDRITZ to Supply Electro-Mechanical Equipment for JSW Energy’s Kutehr Hydropower Plant

International technology group ANDRITZ has received a contract from the Indian independent power producer (IPP) JSW Energy (Kutehr) Ltd, a 100 per cent subsidiary of JSW Energy Ltd, to supply the electro-mechanical equipment for the Kutehr hydroelectric plant in Himachal Pradesh.

International technology group ANDRITZ has received a contract from the Indian independent power producer (IPP) JSW Energy (Kutehr) Ltd, a 100 per cent subsidiary of JSW Energy Ltd, to supply the electro-mechanical equipment for the Kutehr hydroelectric plant in Himachal Pradesh.

Further, the 240 MW hydro power plant is located on the River Ravi in the Chamba district of Himachal Pradesh state in India.

Also, the plant is expected to generate approx 955 GWh of electric power, thus supplying clean and renewable energy to around 4.6 million households.

Besides, the scope of contract includes design, manufacturing, supply, transport, erection, testing and commissioning of three Francis turbine generator units with a capacity of 80 MW each, along with associated auxiliaries and ancillary equipment.

Moreover, the contract will be executed by ANDRITZ’s Indian subsidiary with its manufacturing facilities in Mandideep near Bhopal and Prithla near Faridabad.

On winning the project, ANDRITZ said that, by securing this prestigious contract, it has further consolidated its position as a leading player in the hydropower market in India.
