AMPIN Energy Transition has commissioned around 500 MWp of ISTS-connected wind–solar hybrid capacity at Fatehgarh in Barmer, marking its first integrated hybrid project supplying power to both state utilities and large corporate consumers.
The project combines nearly 400 MWp of solar with about 100 MW of wind capacity, enabling more consistent and reliable renewable power generation across day and night cycles.
Developed as AMPIN’s largest co-located hybrid installation on the Inter-State Transmission System (ISTS) network, the project is designed to deliver firm green energy across state borders. It supplies electricity to state DISCOMs under schemes of Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI III and V), while also catering to commercial and industrial clients such as Samsung Electronics and Bharti Airtel, supporting their long-term renewable energy procurement goals.
Commissioned at the Fatehgarh-IV substation, the project establishes a key renewable energy hub in Rajasthan, a state already leading India’s clean energy expansion. The hybrid configuration enhances grid stability by balancing variability in solar and wind output, ensuring a steadier power supply during peak demand hours.
The project has received the ‘Best ESG Project’ recognition and was honoured at the IJGlobal – ESG Indian Infrastructure Deal of the Year – APAC Awards 2025, underlining its strong environmental, social and governance standards. Once fully operational, it is expected to generate approximately 1.25 billion units of electricity annually while avoiding nearly 1.15 million tonnes of carbon dioxide emissions each year.
With this milestone, AMPIN continues to scale its hybrid portfolio, targeting over 2 GW of capacity, as it strengthens its role in delivering reliable, round-the-clock clean energy solutions in India’s transition toward a low-carbon future.
