AM Green Wins H2Global Asian Lot for EUR 585 Million Green Ammonia Deal

Under the agreement, Hintco, the intermediary managing the auction, will purchase ammonia from AM Green for a minimum value of EUR 585 million over 10 years. Hintco may also purchase additional volumes from the company using proceeds from the resale of green ammonia in the European market.
The award followed a competitive bidding process in which AM Green's offer was ranked first among the submissions received.
The ammonia will be produced at AM Green's Kakinada project in Andhra Pradesh, where the company is converting an existing natural gas-based ammonia and urea complex into a facility using alkaline electrolysis technology.
Electricity for production will be supplied through AM Green's round-the-clock renewable power system backed by pumped-hydro storage, in line with European Union requirements.
First deliveries to Germany are expected in 2029, with ammonia shipped from Kakinada Seaports, located alongside the production facility.
The agreement is expected to support AM Green's plans to develop large-scale renewable ammonia production in India and supply green molecules to European and Asian markets.
For H2Global, the award highlights the role of double-auction mechanisms in supporting early-stage renewable fuel projects and providing long-term demand certainty to producers.

Hintco said it will publish the full auction results before the end of 2026, alongside results from other H2Global tenders covering African, North American, South American and Oceanian lots.
