Alvarez & Marsal India Appoints Ankit Agarwal as Managing Director to Strengthen Energy and Resources Transformation Practice

Alvarez & Marsal (A&M) India has announced the appointment of Ankit Agarwal as Managing Director within its Business Transformation Services practice. Based in Mumbai, Agarwal will lead the firm’s Energy and Resources transformation and operations advisory offerings, with a focus on manufacturing-led sectors.

In his new role, Agarwal will be responsible for scaling A&M’s capabilities across digital operations, lean performance improvement, and OT/IT integration, helping clients deliver measurable results while navigating complex industrial and operational challenges.

He brings more than 17 years of experience across consulting and industry roles spanning India, the Middle East and Europe. His expertise includes operations improvement, growth strategy, post-merger integration, digital transformation, asset reliability and supply chain management.

Throughout his career, he has advised clients across metals and mining, chemicals, fertilisers, Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC), renewables and lubricants sectors. His work has focused on strategy development, turnaround programmes, large-scale transformation initiatives and post-merger integration.

Prior to joining A&M, Agarwal served as an Associate Partner at McKinsey & Company. He has also held roles at Tata Strategic Management Group and Jindal Steel & Power, gaining deep exposure to both advisory and industrial environments.
