Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE) has updated the Approved List of Models and Manufacturers (ALMM) by adding 9,307 MW of solar module capacity in List-I. With this, the cumulative module manufacturing capacity reaches 109,539 MW.
Avaada Electro has added 2,833 MW from its Nagpur facility taking the total ALMM-listed capacity from the Nagpur plant to 4,111 MW. It also has 1,311 MW of capacity listed from its plant in Uttar Pradesh.
FS Green Energies (Future Solar) has 2,252 MW to reach a capacity of 2896 MW. Cosmic PV Power has increased its capacity by 1,117 MW to reach 1302 MW. Kosol Energie has added 889 MW to reach 1526 MW of capacity.
Emmvee Energy has added 2,229 MW from a new plant at Kadaranapura Village in Karnataka. The enlisted capacity from Loom Solar, however, has reduced by 13 MW to 30 MW.
Raajratna Ventures has added 50 MW under Co-ALMM with Knack Energy. Lubi Electronics has added 40 MW under Co-ALMM with Solex Energy and Rajasthan Electronics and Instruments (REIL) has added 10 MW under Co-ALMM with Sunbond Energy.
The list was last updated on August 13, 2025, when the cumulative module manufacturing capacity under ALMM crossed the 100 GW mark by adding 8,774 MW of solar module capacity in List-I.
Seven new manufacturers with 2,812 MW capacity were added to the ALMM, led by Saatvik Solar (1,941 MW), while existing players boosted capacity by 5,985 MW. Major additions came from Goldi Solar (2,675 MW), Vikram Solar (1,446 MW), and Redren Energy (637 MW).
Introduced in 2021, the ALMM serves as a critical quality control measure, ensuring that only approved solar module manufacturers are eligible for government projects, subsidies, and tenders. The list is regularly updated to reflect the status of compliant manufacturers.
Solar Cells will also come under the ambit of ALMM from June 1, 2026 onwards. On July 31, 2025, MNRE released the first edition of its ALMM List-II for solar PV cells, enlisting 13,066 MW of domestic manufacturing capacity across six manufacturers and nine units.
Earlier this month, MNRE issued a draft amendment in the ALMM framework to include solar wafers. As per the draft, ALMM List-III for wafers will come into effect from June 1, 2028, subject to the condition that at least three independent wafer manufacturing units are operational, with a combined annual capacity of 15 GW. Importantly, enlisted wafer manufacturers must also have equivalent ingot manufacturing capacity, ensuring integrated upstream production.
