AIIMS Nagpur Signs MoU with MAHAPREIT for 4 MW Solar Project

All India Institute of Medical Sciences, Nagpur, has signed an MoU with Mahatma Phule Renewable Energy and Infrastructure Technology to set up a 4 MW solar power project on its campus as part of its ongoing clean energy and sustainability initiatives.

All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), Nagpur, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Mahatma Phule Renewable Energy and Infrastructure Technology (MAHAPREIT) for the establishment of a 4 MW solar power project on the AIIMS Nagpur campus.

The MoU was signed by Dr. Prashant P. Joshi, Executive Director and CEO, AIIMS Nagpur, and Santosh Wahane, Chief General Manager, MAHAPREIT, in the presence of officials from both institutions.

AIIMS Nagpur has consistently undertaken several initiatives to promote the utilisation of clean and renewable energy. The institute has been operating a 500 kW solar power plant since 2019 through the Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI). Further strengthening its green energy infrastructure, an additional 200 kW rooftop solar power system is currently being installed through NTPC Vidyut Vyapar Nigam (NVVN).

The proposed 4 MW solar power project marks another significant milestone in AIIMS Nagpur's journey towards achieving greater energy efficiency, reducing its carbon footprint, and fostering environmentally sustainable institutional practices.
