Soon after winning the O&M contract for a 260 MW solar project at Bhadla Solar Park in Rajasthan, Jakson Group has won another bid from NTPC for two projects for a comprehensive Operation and Maintenance (O&M) of a 250 MWp solar photovoltaic (PV) project in Ananthapuram, Andhra Pradesh and a 5 MWp solar PV project in Andaman & Nicobar Islands.

Earlier in February this year, state-owned NTPC had invited bids for the Annual Maintenance Contract (AMC) of both the plants for 3 years.

Under the contract, the company’s scope of work includes regular monitoring of both sites for all kinds of maintenance works with various plant components and equipment, warranty claims, spare parts inventory and various other onsite ground services in these territories to ensure smooth & optimum power generation.

The company said that it will commence its services from June 01, 2022, for the 250 MWp Ananthapuram plant and from December 01, 2022, for the 5 MWp Andaman plant. The project is expected to generate local employment opportunities and build livelihoods for them.

The Ananthapuram project was constructed on one of the toughest terrains of Anantapur (an area consisting of heavy undulations), and the land contained natural streams, dense vegetation, and hillocks and was untouched by the solar power plant to maintain the natural ecosystem.

The 250 MWp Ananthapuram Ultra Mega Solar Power Project, situated at NP Kunta Solar Park in Satyasai district of Andhra Pradesh, was commissioned in May 2016. While, the 5 MWp grid-connected solar PV plant situated at Garacharma in Port Blair, Andaman & Nicobar Islands, is spread across 25 acres and was commissioned in April 2013.

Recently, the company had won a bid for the comprehensive O&M for the 260 MW Bhadla Solar PV power plant located at Bhadla Solar Park in Rajasthan from NTPC.

The company’s scope of work includes continuous monitoring of the site for all kinds of preventive and corrective maintenance issues including plant performance, and regular upkeep of various plant components and equipment, warranty claims, spare parts inventory and various other onsite ground services.

The company will commence the Operation and Maintenance services of the project from May 13, 2022, with the help of technologically advanced methods. This will generate employment opportunities and improve the livelihood of locals.

Meanwhile, the O&M business of the company has presence in over 16 states. In 2022, its portfolio has grown up to 1.6 GW from 60 MW in 2014.
