After Arrah, REC Now Invests Rs 6.99 Cr on CSR Projects in Barhara in Bihar

A day after the Rs 2.34 crore worth of investment announced in Arrah, power sector lender REC Ltd has unveiled its plans for investment of Rs 6.99 crore under various projects including solar and high mast lights in Barhara Tehsil of Bhojpur District in Bihar.

A day after the Rs 2.34 crore worth of investment announced in Arrah, power sector lender REC Ltd has unveiled its plans for investment of Rs 6.99 crore under various projects including solar and high mast lights in Barhara Tehsil of Bhojpur District in Bihar.

These projects were inaugurated by the Power & New and Renewable Energy Minister RK Singh through video conferencing under the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative undertaken by the Navratna company.

In total there were 77 schemes, including 36 schemes for construction of P.C.C. roads, 23 schemes for installation of LED/ Solar and high mast lights, construction of 3 Chat ghaat, construction of 3 community hall & sub health centers and Installation of 12 nos. of arsenic removal plant.

The main objective of the project is to improve and provide basic infrastructure & developmental facilities in the villages of Barhara block in Bhojpur district.

During the occasion, SK Gupta, CMD, Ajoy Choudhury, Director (Finance), R. Lakshmanan, IAS, ED from REC Ltd shared their thoughts, whereas other district officials, public from Barhara were also present during the occasion.

Recently, REC has also announced the investment of Rs 2.34 crore in various projects including infrastructure, solar lights etc in Arrah city of Bhojpur District in the state of Bihar.

REC Ltd has completed more than 50 years in the area of its operations. It provides financial assistance across the power-sector value chain. Apart from this, the company is also the nodal agency for flagship schemes of the Government of India in the power sector like Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Gram Jyoti Yojana (DDUGJY), Saubhagya, etc.

Ahead of the Bihar Assembly elections, a number of schemes were announced by various government agencies for the state.
