Aerem Solutions, a sustainable energy procurement and financing platform, has appointed marketing veteran Nilesh Malani as Executive Director to lead its consumer business, marketing and direct-to-consumer (D2C) e-commerce initiatives.

Malani brings more than two decades of leadership experience across major Indian corporations and will join the company’s leadership team to strengthen its customer-focused strategy and expand digital commerce capabilities in the fast-growing clean energy sector.

Before joining Aerem, Malani served as Global Chief Marketing Officer at Waaree Group, where he played a key role in driving brand transformation and supporting the company’s IPO, which became one of the most heavily subscribed public offerings in India. During his tenure, he also led business development efforts for the emerging flexible solar module category, helping expand the company’s market presence.

Earlier, he worked as Chief Marketing Officer at Polycab India Ltd., where he established the company’s marketing function and scaled new product lines in the wires and fast-moving electrical goods (FMEG) segments. He also led initiatives to revamp the company’s brand identity, secured international sponsorship partnerships, built a digital marketing ecosystem and launched its e-commerce platform.

Malani’s career also includes leadership roles at companies such as JSW Steel, Castrol and Asian Paints, where he worked on retail expansion, brand development and market growth strategies.

Commenting on the appointment, Anand Jain, CEO and Founder of Aerem Solutions, said that the company is entering a crucial growth phase and Malani’s expertise in brand building, digital innovation and business scaling will support its consumer strategy and e-commerce initiatives. He added that Malani will help accelerate Aerem’s efforts to deliver integrated sustainable energy solutions, including solar technologies and net-zero financing, through platforms such as Netzero NBFC and Sunstore.

Malani said that the company is positioned at the center of India’s energy transition and offers an opportunity to build a technology-driven consumer platform for clean energy adoption. He added that his focus will be on leveraging data and digital technologies to create a seamless D2C experience and make Aerem a trusted partner for businesses and households seeking sustainable energy solutions.

The appointment reflects Aerem’s strategy to strengthen its consumer engagement model as demand for distributed renewable energy and digital energy services continues to grow in India.
