AECOM Designs the New Dholera Sustainable smart city in India using BIM Processes.

The Dholera Special Investment Region (DSIR) a government of India initiave as a part of Delhi Mumbai Industrial Corridor. The greenfield industrial hub will be created in gujarat in at the total area of 920 Square kilometres in a time period of 30 years.

The government selected AECOM as the program manager responsible for implementing the entire trunk infrastructure including roads, rail, drainage, water supply, water treatment, sewerage, power and energy, gas and all communication lines using Bentley applications.

It is a USD 641 million project , where AECOM deployed ProjectWise as the connected data environment to manage the engineering design data for all project participants. ProjectWise acts as the hub for multi-discipline design deliverables, while adhering to the appropriate standards and regulations.

Jagdish Salgaonkar, SVP major programs, Dholera, said, “Dholera Industrial City is not a project. It is nation building, and a prime example of a smart and sustainable city.”
