Advait Energy Transitions (AETL), a publicly listed power infrastructure and energy transition company, has secured two turnkey contracts worth approximately INR 131.58 crore from Dakshin Gujarat Vij Company (DGVCL) for the modernisation of electricity distribution infrastructure across the Vyara and Bardoli divisions in Gujarat.

The contracts, awarded on November 3, 2026, involve converting existing 11/22 kV High-Tension (HT) overhead electricity networks into underground cable systems, along with associated Low-Tension (LT) network conversion, installation of SCADA-compatible equipment, transformer upgrades and digital asset mapping. The projects fall under DGVCL's SI Scheme (Robust 3) and represent an important addition to Advait's growing portfolio of power distribution infrastructure projects.

The Vyara Division contract is valued at INR 62.05 crore, while the Bardoli Division contract is worth INR 69.53 crore, both inclusive of taxes. Each project carries an execution period of 24 months, excluding the monsoon months of June, July and August, following an initial commencement period of 45 days.

The projects cover a range of engineering, procurement and construction activities, including site surveys, underground utility verification, design, engineering, equipment procurement, installation, testing, commissioning and project documentation.

A central component of the work involves converting existing overhead HT networks into underground cable systems, supported by SCADA-compatible Ring Main Units (RMUs), higher-capacity transformers and Compact Substations (CSS). The scope also includes removal of the existing DO overhead system and conversion of overhead LT networks into underground systems using feeder and mains service pillars.

The contracts further incorporate underground utility verification using Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR) and Electromagnetic Pipe Locators (EPL), along with GIS mapping, Geo Urja Mapping developed by Gujarat Urja Vikas Nigam (GUVNL) and asset tagging.

These elements are intended to support a more structured approach to distribution network development, combining physical infrastructure upgrades with improved asset documentation and compatibility with digital network management systems.

The scope reflects the increasing technical complexity of electricity distribution modernisation, where underground cabling, network equipment, mapping and system integration must be coordinated within a single execution framework.

For Advait, the projects provide an opportunity to deploy its engineering and EPC capabilities across multiple components of distribution infrastructure, extending its involvement beyond individual equipment supply into integrated network development.

The latest DGVCL orders represent another step in Advait's expansion across India's power infrastructure sector. The company has built its business around specialised power transmission products, engineering capabilities and infrastructure execution and is progressively strengthening its participation in power distribution and grid modernisation projects.

The Vyara and Bardoli contracts align with this broader strategy by combining network conversion, electrical equipment integration, advanced site surveys and digital infrastructure documentation.

As electricity networks evolve to accommodate changing demand patterns and increasingly complex power systems, modernisation of distribution infrastructure remains an important area of investment. Underground cabling and SCADA-compatible equipment form part of this transition, supporting the development of more modern and manageable electricity distribution networks.

Commenting on the development, Shalin Sheth, Founder and Managing Director, Advait Energy Transitions, said, "Modernising India's electricity distribution infrastructure is essential to building a more reliable, efficient and future-ready power network. The two contracts from DGVCL represent an important opportunity for Advait to contribute to this transformation through our engineering expertise and integrated project execution capabilities.

Our experience in power transmission has provided us with a strong technical and operational foundation, which we are progressively extending into distribution infrastructure and grid modernisation. These projects bring together underground cabling, SCADA-compatible systems and digital asset mapping within a comprehensive execution framework. We remain focused on delivering quality infrastructure, maintaining execution discipline and strengthening our capabilities across the power value chain."

Advait's expanding presence in distribution infrastructure complements its established power transmission business and growing activities across renewable energy, battery energy storage and other energy transition technologies. The company's broader strategy centres on developing capabilities that address different requirements of India's power and energy infrastructure, from transmission equipment and EPC execution to emerging clean energy manufacturing and integrated energy solutions.
