Advait Battery Ecosystem Pvt. Ltd., a subsidiary of Advait Energy Transitions Ltd. and part of Advait Group, has signed a Master Supply Agreement with HiTHIUM for the supply of lithium iron phosphate (LFP) prismatic battery cells, with cell offtake of up to 1 GWh over the next year.

The agreement is for Advait Gangad’s upcoming 2.5 GWh annual-capacity cell-to-container Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) assembly facility, strengthening domestic sourcing for utility-scale and commercial and industrial energy storage applications.

Under the agreement, HiTHIUM will supply 314 Ah LFP prismatic cells to Advait. The arrangement is intended to provide high-volume cell supply as the company scales its domestic BESS assembly operations.

Advait said that the agreement will anchor cell sourcing for its planned facility, with capabilities covering module and pack assembly, container integration and system commissioning.

Bhushan Shahane, Chief Operating Officer, Advait Battery Ecosystem Pvt. Ltd., said, “This partnership with Hithium reflects our belief in partnering with the best: the best cell technology, the best quality and the best service available in the market today. As we scale our 2.5 GWh BESS assembly capacity, a dependable, world-class cell supply chain is central to our ability to deliver cost-optimised, high-performance energy storage solutions to customers across India.”

The Gangad facility is being developed as part of Advait’s strategy to build an integrated domestic BESS manufacturing ecosystem. The company said that its planned operations will serve utility-scale, commercial and industrial, and renewable energy integration applications.

The collaboration with HiTHIUM follows Advait Battery Ecosystem’s strategic partnership with Adaptive Engineering for engineering design, energy management system architecture, PLC/SCADA and system integration capabilities.
