Adani Green Energy Ltd (AGEL) has announced plans to invest about INR 15,000 crore to develop more than 10 GWh of battery energy storage capacity in FY27, strengthening its push toward firm and dispatchable renewable energy.

The planned addition comes on top of the company’s existing storage capacity of nearly 3 GWh, which is expected to be achieved soon after the commissioning of 1.4 GWh during FY26, the company said that during its earnings call.

The new storage systems are being developed in conjunction with renewable energy projects at Khavda in Gujarat, where AGEL is building what it describes as the world’s largest renewable energy park.

The expansion is aimed at enhancing grid reliability and enabling consistent clean power supply as India scales up renewable energy integration.
