Adani Green Energy has announced that it will supply 20.8 MW of wind-solar hybrid power to Asahi India Glass (AIS) under a captive arrangement.
The solar-wind hybrid power will be supplied from a 25 MW solar power plant unit and a 20.8 MW wind power plant unit, both located at Khavda, Gujarat, the company stated in a regulatory filing.
Adani Green Energy Twenty Five B, a wholly-owned stepdown subsidiary of Adani Green Energy, has entered into a power consumption agreement and a tripartite agreement with Asahi India Glass for the supply of 20.8 MW of solar-wind hybrid power, it said.
AIS has agreed to subscribe minimum of 26 percent of the proportionate equity share capital related to the project, in one or more tranches, in order to meet the minimum captive shareholding as per the captive rules, the filing noted.
“Adani Green Energy Twenty Five B and Adani Renewable Energy Holding Four have also signed an investment agreement with Asahi India Glass on January 07, 2026,” it said.
In FY25, AIS marked a major sustainability milestone with the successful commissioning of its green hydrogen initiative at the Soniyana float glass facility in Rajasthan. Under a 20-year agreement with Inox Air, AIS has now been sourcing green hydrogen produced using renewable energy from a dedicated solar power plant through electrolysis. As per the agreement, Inox Air will supply 95 tonnes of green hydrogen annually for AIS's new greenfield float glass facility in Chittorgarh, Rajasthan.
According to its Annual Report for FY24-25, the company aims to increase the share of renewable sources in total energy consumed to 70 percent by 2030.
