Adani Electricity Mumbai made headlines by successfully powering the bustling metropolis with 100% renewable electricity for an uninterrupted four-hour period, from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM.

Adani Electricity Mumbai harnessed a combination of solar and wind energy to accomplish this milestone. The company collaborated closely with the Maharashtra Electricity Regulatory Commission (MERC) to ensure the stability of the grid, preventing any disruptions to the city's power supply during this green-powered initiative.

The initiative, aptly named ‘Green Diwali,’ was introduced by Adani Electricity Mumbai to promote awareness about the importance of renewable energy and encourage a shift towards greener energy sources. As part of the campaign, the company extended a special discount on electricity bills to consumers who opted for its green energy tariff during the Diwali festival.

In a statement, Adani Electricity Mumbai highlighted its commitment to sustainability, claiming to have satisfied up to 38 percent of its consumers' electricity requirements from renewable sources in 2023. The company remains resolute in its goal to achieve a 60% renewable energy share by 2027.

Kandarp Patel, the Managing Director of Adani Electricity, expressed his enthusiasm, stating, "Achieving 100% Renewable Energy is a first and a significant milestone in Mumbai's energy transition, demonstrating that renewables can significantly power Mumbai City with reliable and sustainable electricity at competitive tariffs."

Adani Electricity Mumbai Limited serves over three million consumers in Mumbai and its suburbs and boasts a reliability rate of 99.99 percent.
