ACME Group’s 400 MW solar power project with integrated battery energy storage in Andhra Pradesh has recorded rapid on-ground progress, moving from state-level approvals to construction within just four months, the state government said.
The INR 3,000-crore project, located in Anantapur district, is being developed under the Firm and Dispatchable Renewable Energy (FDRE) framework. It combines large-scale solar generation with battery energy storage systems to supply round-the-clock renewable power and enhance grid reliability.
The project is scheduled to be commissioned by 2026. Welcoming the pace of execution, Andhra Pradesh Education, IT and Electronics Minister Nara Lokesh said the swift transition from approvals to implementation reflected the state’s emphasis on speed, certainty and effective investment facilitation.
“Speed matters. Happy to see progress from state government approval to ground action in four months at ACME’s 400 MW solar plus battery storage project in Anantapur. This INR 3,000 crore project will be commissioned by 2026. Andhra Pradesh is proud to be a partner in boosting grid reliability and accelerating India’s clean energy journey,” Lokesh said.
Once commissioned, the project is expected to significantly strengthen grid stability while supporting India’s broader clean energy transition.
The state government reiterated its commitment to fast-tracking renewable energy, energy storage and green manufacturing projects through proactive facilitation, ready land banks and a responsive single-desk clearance system.
The ACME FDRE project aligns with Andhra Pradesh’s strategy to position itself as a national hub for renewable energy and advanced power solutions, backed by robust transmission infrastructure and investor-friendly policies.
